Clear benefits when using the TIFAS SR stamp-riveting system

Titgemeyer’s TIFAS SR stamp-riveting system is designed to ensure reliable and tight joins between different materials, coated components and also other multi-layer items, while also reducing costs. This innovative, all-round system is a cost-effective, groundbreaking alternative to conventional welding techniques, offering clear benefits in comparison.

No preliminary drilling work required
Preliminary drilling is now a thing of the past. Other preparation work, such as surface cleaning, is likewise no longer necessary. Stamping and fixing are carried out in a single step. This simplifies assembly tasks, reduces costs and time requirements, and increases production plant flexibility.

No heat input
The TIFAS SR stamp-riveting process makes sustainable use of raw materials, as the joining procedure takes place without heat input, with no displacement, distortion or shrinkage to affect the stability of the join. The workpiece remains unaffected, and the join is both gas and watertight in the long term.

Titgemeyer’s stamp-riveting system also scores points when it comes to health and safety. The absence of welding procedures means less risk of injury. There are no harmful emissions; and the low level of noise generated means that there is no need to use special hearing protection.

Possible applications for all sectors
This stamp-riveting system is ideal for a whole range of uses, including – for example – the manufacture of aluminium ladders for domestic or workshop use. TIFAS SR stamp rivets are used with just as much success in vehicle-body construction, car-seat manufacture and operating systems for doors and gates. The optional integration of TIOS Control for fully-automated process-control purposes makes the system of special interest for use in series production. This system’s trouble-free ability to join materials as different as steel, aluminium, nylon fabric, plastic and rubber – along with others – to each other means that the list of possible areas of application is permanently growing. Rivets can also be supplied to customer order in the colour of the component, thereby eliminating the need for such subsequent processes as painting or surface-coating. Three alternative head designs are available for different purposes: flat round-head,
countersunk and flat-head.

Tools for optimum working
Titgemeyer supplies the TIOS SRH 2 hydraulic device for fully and semiautomatic operation in the trade and industry sectors, suitable for flexible use in anything from prototype construction to small-scale series production. The batteryoperated, hand-held, electrical-hydraulic TIOS SRA 50 device is also available for use in repair work and prototype construction.
