Made-to-measure: high-grade PUR moulded components for trade and industry
Titgemeyer's line of moulded components made from PUR integral foam is finding an increasingly diverse range of applications. In addition to ordering moulded components for bumpers, handles, steps and ceiling lights, Titgemeyer customers these days are turning more and more to the possibility of having moulded parts made exactly to their specifications. As a result, the Titgemeyer workshop in the Westphalian town of Lotte now produces special applications for a wide range of branches, one example being industrial handles bearing the customer logo. “Besides the high standard of our PUR products, customers are especially taken by the fact that they can work with us to find the ideal way to realise the envisaged applications and then have them custom-made. A variety of shapes and sizes, as well as different foam coverings and internal reinforcements, can be easily achieved,” says Product Manager, Ricardo Griepenburg.
Compelling properties
Titgemeyer's moulded components made from PUR integral foam are particularly impressive thanks to their clean, smooth and non-porous surfaces. The outer layer is very tough and extremely resistant to tearing. This is a significant advantage when compared with conventional rubber-elastomeric materials. At the same time, they have an elastic inner body that is an essential property for moulded parts designed to provide ramming and impact protection. Their superb attributes also include high tensile strength, increased tear strength and a very low net weight, making them resistant to most oils and greases, petrol, light acids, alkaline solutions and other aggressive substances.
Multi-functional application for trade and industry
Moulded components made from PUR integral foam are typically used in the production of the numerous different handles made for sliding doors, sliding walls, swing doors, swing walls, partitioning walls, flaps, lids, hoods, housings and all types of gates. They are also suitable for making certain types of carry handles. Being smooth and non-porous, the handles have a very hand-friendly surface. They maintain their grip and, unlike metal handles, are also pleasant to the feel in cold weather. The handles are corrosion-free, extremely lightweight and do not hold any unpleasant surprises in store such as static charge or creepage. They are used, for example in the vehicle building sector, all types of machinery, for cold storage rooms and cellars or as handles on crates, boxes and other containers. Even in short production runs, customer logos can be added to virtually any component for advertising purposes.
